New Haunt Music
One of my favorite songwriters is Northampton’s Matt Hebert. After his stint fronting Ware River Club ended in the early half of the 00’s, his prolific songwriting tendencies only began to show. Matt continues to write, record and perform heart-worn songs that always seem to surprise me and catch me when least expected.
His forthcoming album (under the band name “Haunt“) is called “The Deep North” and will be released on Nine Mile Records in 2008. Now streaming from Haunt’s MySpace page are two songs from the new album, “The Sea and the Soul” and “I Suppose”. The latter features some crucial harmonies by producer José Ayerve while the former features some ruff-tastic drumming from Brian Marchese. Point being, this is my favorite version of Matt Hebert to date. The acoustic guitars were left at home. The electrics are out and on fire. Enjoy…
